Small Group Training

Large gym environments or fitness classes can be intimidating — start small.

 

Small groups allow for individual attention and safer, more precise movement. Each session includes personalized adaptations, injury prevention strategies and shared accountability. Together, you’ll build consistency, confidence and functional strength.  

Small-group training is perfect for anyone who wants more guidance during fitness instruction, whether you’re just getting started, have a chronic health condition or you feel uncomfortable in a larger gym or class setting.  

The Pieters Family Life Center offers an intimate and supportive environment welcoming people of all abilities and backgrounds. 

Program Details 

You’ll begin with a one-on-one consultation with our trainer, Jay Shiner, to assess your needs, goals and appropriate support. Based on this, you’ll be placed into a small training group with others who have similar goals and abilities.  

Groups consist of three to four participants and meet one or two times per week. Appointments can be flexible and based on your individual and group needs. 

Small-group training is offered on an ongoing basis, meaning you can continue for as long as you’d like. Participants must be 14 years or older. 

While groups can be assigned, we welcome small groups of three or four to register together as well.

 Jay Shiner is passionate about helping people of all abilities achieve their wellness goals. He has worked in strength and conditioning for the Baltimore Orioles, led at New Jersey’s holistic Innovative Wellness Center and has a background in education in sports medicine. Whether you’re looking to build strength, improve mobility or enhance overall well-being, Jay is here to support you.
